On November 14, 2001 we celebrate Deepavali,
the festival of lights. People celebrate this festival by
lighting arrays of lamps and bursting firecrackers, signifying the
victory of good over evil. Bhagavan Baba has spoken about the
inner significance of this very important festival on a number of

This year the annual Akhanda Bhajan (24 hour non-stop Bhajan)
will start at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2001 and end at
6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 11, 2001. Sai Darshan is pleased to present
devotees with some Divine Words of advice on the
importance of singing Bhajans and what we can accomplish with community singing.

Dasara is a ten day festival
that begins with the first day of the month of Aashvayuja
in the Lunar calendar. The first nine nights, Devi Navaraatri, are
dedicated to the maternal feminine Shakti aspect of the Divine. The tenth
day is Vijaya Dasami, commemorating the day that Rama achieved victory
over Ravana. This year, Dasara is being celebrated from October 17, 2001 to
October 26, 2001. Bhagavan Baba has spoken about the inner significance of this
very important festival on a number of occasions. Sai Darshan is happy to share
some of these Divine Words.

On January 14, 2001 we celebrate Sankraanthi, which is a festival
that celebrates the glory of the Sun God. This day marks the entry of the sun
into Uttarayana, or the zodiac house of Capricorn. Special
sacredness is attached to this movement of the sun. To mark the

of Sankraanthi are presented.
