'Atheetha' means 'exceeding', going beyond. Baba's glory pervades the earth and transcends it. As is mentioned in the Purusha-sooktha, 'He covers the Earth and the Universe and exceeds everything conceivable'. The Lord exceeds all descriptions and definitions; for how can words exhaust the description of the limitless! "I have no name; all Names are Mine", Baba says. Whatever is said of Him falls short, for He is not reached by even the imagination. Baba surprises every one who feels that he has not understood Him, by revealing newer and newer facets of His glory. For example Creation of Vibhuthi from His Palm could be seen and described; but creation of vibhuthi, Kumkum, Sandal powder, Amrit from His pictures kept and worshipped in far off lands transcends the topmost soar of imagination. When a gathering of devotees of Sirsi (about 400 miles away from Prashanthi Nilayam where He was) telegraphed for a Message, He willed that the Pranava appear at two places on the special chair that was placed for Him in the hall at Sirsi and they appeared clear for all (even today) to see. When a devotee of Sai Baba at Bombay had the vibhuthi created by Sathya Sai Baba on his tongue but hesitated to swallow it, lest it should be sacrilege to serve two Masters, Baba willed from Prasanthi Nilayam that a long flash of light should emerge as a sign, from a picture of His on the wall! His deeds overstep human estimates and guesses. A poor lady from Bombay came to Prasanthi Nilayam for the Dasara festival, on a Railway ticket which Baba mysteriously placed before His picture in her room, when she wept she could not go! Others are given the panacea vibhuthi on the tongue or forehead or as packets under the pillow!
